wHAT IS SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT?

For people with a disability who need a little extra support in the workplace, Australian Disability Enterprises such as Aruma offer what’s called Supported Employment.

To be eligible for Supported Employment, you must have a Disability Support Pension (DSP) and an NDIS plan. To find out more about Supported Employment visit Supported Employment at Aruma.

Is experience necessary?

You do not need any experience or qualifications to join our Summerland Farm team as a Supported Employee. Our supervisors and trainers will provide you with training and support every step of the way.

Who is eligible?

You need to have a Disability Support Pension (DSP) and access to funding through the NDIS. You will also need to be physically able to carry out the requirements of your role (reasonable adjustments and support is available).

What will I do?

There are so many activities you can do. It could be cooking, plant and animal care, serving customers in the restaurant and shops, macadamia dehusking, gardening or forklift driving. See what you enjoy! See all the current roles here.
